With about 18 Famous Dave’s BBQ locations in California, I’m surprised that I’ve never actually been to one.  This week, their latest location opened on Bristol just a couple of blocks north of South Coast Plaza.  What better than a plate of bbq after a day of shopping?  Go on, wear that new Armani shirt and go to town on some ribs.

Say hello to my little friend.  Dave’s Smokin Tea with vodka, rum, gin, triple sec, sweet & sour and Pepsi.

If you like things really spicy, they’ll bring out Wilbur’s Revenge.

We were hungry tonight.  Really hungry.  Luckily, the All American BBQ Feast for 2 came to our rescue.

One can’t live on meat alone, right?  This feast comes with 4 tasty sides.  Cole Slaw, Cornbread, Jalapeno Mac and Cheese and Dave’s Famous Fries.  These fries, I tell you, are awesome.  Crunchy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside.  If you haven’t come here before, then you’ve probably never had fries like these anywhere else.

Super tender roasted chicken with just the right amount of bbq sauce grilled on.

And we get to the brisket.  Never had it this moist.   Lots of places do it wrong until it’s super dry and grey.  It’s very tender and juicy here with the red smoke ring around the meat, pretty much giving it the stamp of quality.

Bread pudding with pecan praline sauce and vanilla ice cream.  I’ve heard that many people refer to this as the best part of the meal.  After trying it, they might have a good argument!

I’m glad I finally came to a Famous Dave’s and I’m glad they opened one up closer to home!  Now if you excuse me, it’s time for a nap.
