And God said… “Let there be Prime Rib!”

Or something to that effect. Well, when you are at Five Crowns in Newport Beach, beef does get elevated to somewhat of a religious experience. I mean, any place that fries their potatoes in beef fat must have the blessing of some higher authority. Or maybe it’s the admonishment of a higher authority? Read on and decide for yourself.
Five Crowns is actually part of the Lawry’s group of restaurants known for their delicious Prime Rib. It’s been around since 1965 and has an elegant warm atmosphere. For a more pubby atmosphere, just make a right at the entrance and you’re at Side Door. More to come on that place shortly!
Beets are a relatively new love of mine. Adrienne turned me on to them about 4 years ago and now I can’t get enough them. This salad is incredibly tasty as well as being nice on the eyes. I also tried Tatsoi which is something I’ve never had before. It’s an Asian green which has a spinachy taste and texture.
Sturgeon is a white meaty fish with a firm texture. Simply prepared here with butter. The Confit potatoes were no doubt immersed in what else? Beef fat of course!
Excuse me as I wipe the drool of my cheek. Just looking at this makes me want to go back. Tender and delicious. Pouring the prime rib drippings onto the Yorkshire pudding is also something your cardiologist highly recommends. Lastly, the sweet creamed corn is the perfect primer for your next bite of prime rib.
Just a continuation of the “freakin delicious” theme of the night. Cheers.
