What??? Chicken Butt!

Okay, it’s called Chicken Tail on the menu. But whether you call it this or the Pope’s Nose, it’s oh so tasty when grilled Yakitori style. We’re at Kappo Honda on Brookhurst in Fountain Valley, one of our favorite restaurants. We actually saw an Iron Chef here once, Cat Cora!
A beautiful and tasty assortment of seaweed in ponzu sauce.
Chewy yet tender in texture and with the flavor of the sea. Just the right amount of kick from the Wasabi.
Meaty and fatty. Need more.
I normally like beef tongue sliced a little thinner than how they do it at Kappo but it’s still great. As for the crispy chicken skin, it’s so tasty you’ll want to have 10 more and make a meal of just that.
I never knew how well they’ve mastered cooking Chicken Heart until I tried it another place where it was rubbery. Not sure if it was the quality of the meat or the time spent on the grill. All I know is, I like it here, a lot.
Not everyone is into Chicken Cartilage but I think that almost crunchy texture of cartilage is great.
A gooey rice cake swimming in sweet red bean. And…we’re done. Till next time. Like…maybe tomorrow. J/K
